The Changing Exhibition Gallery ensures that there is always something new to see at the MSV.  On February 9, LOOK HERE Dazzle from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts opens in the MSV Changing Exhibitions Gallery.  Dazzle will be on display through May 6, 2007.

Dazzle presents finely crafted objects in gold, silver, gemstones, and other precious materials from VMFA’s collection.  Exhibition highlights include jewels made by French designer Jean Schlumberger (1907-1987), who worked for Tiffany & Co. in New York; pre-Colombian and African gold; American silver; ancient Chinese bronzes; and elaborately detailed works from the princely courts of Mughal India.

Part of a special statewide outreach initiative, Dazzle is one of four themed exhibitions in the LOOK HERE series from the VMFA. Offering an extraordinary look at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts permanent collection, the series includes Dazzle, Feast, Speed, and Mystery.

The LOOK HERE exhibitions are sponsored by SunTrust with generous support from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

  • The Changing Exhibitions Gallery will be closed from January 15 through the exhibition opening on February 9 at the Galleries at Night event.  Watch this web site for details about more upcoming exhibitions!
